Ryan Hamilton & The Traitors – New Single ‘Smarter’

Texas based singer/songwriter Ryan Hamilton and his band The Traitors are proud to announce the release of  their new single Smarter  on August 11th , in advance of their 8 date UK tour.
“I think Smarter is a perfect example of all the ingredients coming together to give our band it’s sound. Pop, Rock and Country can all be found in this tune, and I’m super proud of that. It’s nothing that we do on purpose. It’s just what happens when you take a dude from Texas, and put him in a band with hair metal loving British band mates. Haha. As my band mates would say, the chorus is a little cheeky… but it… actually comes from a very personal place. ‘I’m still not clean, and I’m not sober. I’m just a little bit smarter and a whole lot older’ ” – Ryan Hamilton
Ryan Hamilton & The Traitors promise the forthcoming UK tour will be “as close to a drunken rock n roll show in a Texas saloon that folks can get in the UK. Drinks, music, friends. good vibes and good times all around.”
Smarter is taken from the critically acclaimed new album The Devil’s In The Detail, an uplifting and energetic yet sensitive record, that celebrates music and storytelling. The 12 finely crafted songs, including the previous single Heavy Heart, clearly represent Ryan Hamilton and The Traitors distinctive mix of melodic pop and rock.
Aside from Ryan the album features UK musicians, including Ginger Wildheart – who handpicked Ryan & The Traitors as his main tour support in 2016 and plays lead guitar on the majority of the tracks. Scottish singer/songwriter Chrissy Barnacle also provides velvety backing vocals and duets on Don’t Say I Told You So.
Full of melody and charm with no reliance on nostalgia The Devil’s In The Detail is an aural treat and truly deserves a place in your heart.

“If the sun had lips and arms, and wasn’t so damn hot, this album would sound like a kiss and a hug from actual sunshine. As it stands, being hugged by the sun would be a massively unrewarding experience. Unless you were another sun, of course. Which you’re not. Or maybe you are? I dunno. But what I do know is that Ryan has the voice I wish I had and he writes songs I wish I’d written. One day he will be a huge star and will speak to me only via his secretary, but for now I am greatly honoured to recommend this album with every fibre of my person.” -Ginger Wildheart
